ST. LOUIS, MO. (KTVI) -A St. Louis owned winery in California will be chipping in a cut of its proceeds to the Humane Society of Missouri for the rest of the year.? Nicholson Jones/ Cellar Arts is offering the gift. ?
The winery is owned by Cal and Pam Nicholson.? Pam Nicholson is known in our area as president of St. Louis based Enterprise Rent a Car.? She?s also on the board of the humane society. ?
?They both have three or four dogs and two or three cats around the house,? wine distributor Todd Lewis said of the animal loving Nicholsons. ?
?They put the idea of merging wine and wildlife together from there.
?We actually started talking about doing it for the humane society about two months ago.? And then we put all of our heads together and got together with the humane society,? Lewis said.
Everyone was quickly in favor of the idea, and now the promotion is underway, with a donation from every bottle sold between now and the end of 2012 going to the animals.
Jean Jae of the humane society confirmed being a wine fan.
?I have been known to have a glass or two from time to time,? she said.? Asked if she?d be stocking up, she replied, ?Absolutely.? Are you kidding? ?
